Rap God?

Eminem's career has enjoyed something of a reinvigoration over the past few months.
His newest album - The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - was a brilliant body of work which paid a fitting tribute to its predecessor whilst cementing the star's place in hip-hop history - as if his spot wasn't already a certainty.
The record topped the charts in the UK and US - along with 10 other nations worldwide - and boasted four Top 5 singles, including the sharp-tongued hit Rap God.
It's been a hugely significant year for the Slim Shady rapper, who has been more open than ever about his past battles with drug addiction.
After a massive 2013, Eminem must be a shoe-in to pick up a prize at this year's Brit Awards, right? Check out our guide to see what we think.

What award is he nominated for?

With the event's obvious leanings towards celebrating British talent, the rapper is only up for one gong this year - the coveted Best International Male.

Who stands in his way?

His biggest rival for the prize will most likely be Justin Timberlake, who made a triumphant return to music and has enjoyed great success over the last year.
Recent Super Bowl half-time show star Bruno Mars also made the shortlist and is in with a chance, while John Grant and Drake are also in the running.

What does the past tell us?

If history repeats itself, then Eminem could well be walking out of The O2 arena after taking home the same prize in 2001, 2003 and 2005.
After a five year absence, he was nominated in 2010 and 2011, but he'll be hoping his fresh return to the shortlist will allow him to emulate his early success.

Does he stand a chance then?

Absolutely - it wouldn't be a surprise to see Marshall Mathers III walk out of the Brits with the Best International Male prize.
Suit & Tie singer Justin Timberlake - a two-time winner himself - may have something to say about it though, and Bruno Mars can't be ruled out.
Throw in a rising star in John Grant and outsider Drake, and this category will be very tightly contested.
