His public plea for Paula! Robin Thicke took to the stage at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18 -- not once, but twice! -- to profess his love for his estranged wife Paula Patton.
In his latest public attempt to win Patton back, the "Blurred Lines" singer, 37, first made his latest sentiments known as he accepted the award for Best R&B Single. Sporting a buzzed haircut and black leather jacket, Thicke gushed, "Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support, and for putting up with me for all these years."

The high school sweethearts announced their split back in February in a joint statement. "We will always love each other and be best friends," the parents to 3-year-old son Julian told Us Weekly. Following their split, a source told Us: "Robin wanted to save their marriage, but it was Paula's choice and she ended it."

Thicke, later at the Billboard Music Awards, returned to the stage to perform his new single, "Get Her Back," which he had written for his wife. As reported by Us, the R&B hitmaker wanted to swap his normally-flashy performance style for a more low-key, heartfelt delivery Sunday evening.

"Alright, y'all, help me get her back," Thicke said to the crowd. With his eyes glistening, Thicke launched into his song featuring lyrics like, "I gotta treat her right" and "I'm gonna go get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back." He then asked the crowd to put their hands together, as he fell onto his knees and belted out from his heart, "I gotta get her, I gotta get a girl tonight."
A source told Us that Thicke "was in a good mood rehearsing it." Added the insider, "He had lots of energy."
